Store co-owner and local #1 New York Times best-selling cookbook author, Phyllis Pellman Good, loves to cook and always wanted to own a store filled with her favorite tools for the kitchen. In the fall of 2010 she and her husband, Merle, opened The Good Cooking Store in the quaint village of Intercourse PA.
Located in the heart of Lancaster County’s Amish country, The Good Cooking Store sits at the first light in town, if you are heading east on Route 340. We have free parking immediately behind our building.
The Good Cooking Store has high quality gadgets and wares for your kitchen. Each is carefully hand-selected; each is functional, helping to meet your kitchen needs, as well as attractive. We offer cookware, cutlery, bakeware, gadgets, linens, locally-made food, and cookbooks.
Having the right tool for a task in the kitchen is key. From basic whisks to the latest tool on the market, our knowledgeable staff will help you find what you need to prepare food efficiently and well.
Cookware and Cutlery
High quality cookware and cutlery are essential for every kitchen. We are pleased to offer All-Clad cookware that is made in Pennsylvania; highly acclaimed Cuisinart; and Swiss Diamond, a line of top-quality non-stick cookware. We also carry Staub, French-made enamel cast iron, and American-made Lodge cast iron cookware.
Our cutlery selection includes German-made Zwilling knives; Japanese-made Shun knives; Japanese-made Kyocera ceramic knives; and Cooks’ Illustrated’s favorite knives, Victorinox, from the company who is known for their Swiss Army knives. Come into the store today and try these knives. Our staff will help you understand the differences between the cutlery options and help find the right knife for you. A great knife is a must-have tool in your kitchen.
Lancaster County is known for its baking, so of course we offer a wide selection of bakeware! USA-made Nordic Ware is best known for their bundt pans, but they also have quality basics for baking. USA-made USA Pan is commercial-quality non-stick bakeware. And Chicago Metallic is a trusted brand of bakeware that bakers have been using for years.
We offer aprons for men and women and a colorful selection of dish towels and dish cloths in different materials to fit your kitchen décor and needs.
