Merle and I have lived in the same row home in Lancaster city for over 30 years. We enjoy the city and all that it has to offer. We also like our house, but living in a row home does have some challenges. We live on four floors, so I am often working on several things at once, but on different floors.

My youngest daughter also lives in a row home and has the same predicament. A few times she’s forgotten about food in the oven on the first floor while throwing in a load of laundry in the basement—thus resulting in a burnt cake.
