In our second-floor kitchen and cooking school, we offer cooking classes. Our cooking classes are either partial hands-on or completely hands-on. Many of our classes are taught by home cooks for home cooks.

Join Valerie Baer, a home cook with years of baking experience, for an afternoon of scones and tea. In this class you will see Val demonstrate how to make Double Chocolate Scones, Strawberry Scones, Cream Scones, Lemon Curd, and a simplified Clotted Cream. You will get to sample these recipes and you will also enjoy some information on various kinds of tea and get to sample teas from our tea bar.

Join Chef Jeff Stermer for this demonstration class where you will learn to make and then eat the following menu: Caesar Salad, composed of crisp romaine, tossed with homemade lemon, garlic croutons and a classic Caesar salad dressing; Carbonade of Pork Tenderloin with Mushrooms; Sautéed Green Beans with fresh herbs and garlic; and Chocolate Crunch Soufflé. Mothers and daughters, join store co-owner and New York Times’ best-selling cookbook author Phyllis Pellman Good as we enjoy a mother/daughter lunch of recipes using fresh herbs. In this partial hands-on class, we will make and then eat: Layered Cheese Torte with Pesto, Herbed Halibut, Herbed Sliced Baked Potatoes, and Lemon Granita. Come to learn tips for cooking with herbs and to enjoy a meal with your mother or daughter (or a substitute!).
Class Terms: Payment in full is required to reserve your seat in a Good Cooking Store cooking class. Class payments are non-refundable, are not transferable to another class, and no credit will be issued. You may send a substitute to the class if you are unable to attend. The Good Cooking Store reserves the right to cancel classes 72 hours prior to class time if minimum numbers of participants are not met or if other circumstances arise requiring cancellation. If The Good Cooking Store chooses to cancel, your class payment will be refunded in full.
The first floor of The Good Cooking Store, where you will find our gadgets and wares, is handicap-accessible. Our Cooking School is on the second floor and requires using steps to reach it.
